Polish League, Regular Season Phase 2, Game 4: March 17-18, 2012
Asseco Prokom whipped PGE Turow 69-93 Sunday in a rematch of last season’s Polish League finals. Donatas Motiejunas scored 19 points, Przemyslaw Zamojski added 17 on 4-of-6 three-point shooting and Adam Hrycaniuk tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the defending champs, who used a 2-18 run that bridged the first and second quarters to take control. The lead reached 22-43 by halftime and defending champs coasted the rest of the way. Michal Chylinski scored 14 and Konrad Wysocki 13 in defeat. First-placed Trefl Sopot edged Zastal Zielona Gora 88-87 on a Lukasz Koszarek three at the buzzer to improve to 22-6 and remain atop the table. Koszarek finished with 19 points and 6 assists and John Turek posted 12 points and 10 rebounds. Walter Hodge amassed 38 points and 10 assists plus the go-ahead basket in the closing seconds before Koszarek won it for Sopot. Prokom hosts Sopot next week in a pivotal clash. In the weekend’s other contest, Anwil Wloclawek bested Energa Czarni Slupsk 69-82 on the strength of 18 points from Dardan Berisha.
