Top executives meet before the NBA Europe Live tip-off

Euroleague Basketball CEO, Mr. Jordi Bertomeu; NBA Commissioner, Mr. David Stern; and F.C. Barcelona President, Mr. Sandro Rosell, met Thursday for an informal lunch in Barcelona before the NBA Europe Live game that will be played this evening between reigning Euroleague Basketball champion Regal F.C. Barcelona and NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.

Using the sporting event as an opportunity to further deepen the relationships between the two leading basketball competitions, Commissioner Stern and CEO Jordi Bertomeu discussed the possibility of creating additional platforms, such as the ongoing NBA Europe Live event and next week’s Euroleague Basketball American Tour, to help the sport of basketball grow on a global level.

This is the fifth year that NBA teams traveled across the Atlantic to play and give fans across Europe the opportunity to enjoy not only the best of European basketball, but also the show offered by NBA teams. It is because of events like these that both CEO Bertomeu and Commissioner Stern feel the sport of basketball can continue to grow and attract more fans worldwide.
