The Ciutat de LHospitalet Tournament, one of the most prestigious junior tournaments in Europe, has tipped off its 33rd edition on Wednesday as five Spanish clubs and three junior teams from abroad have gathered in LHospitalet, a suburb of Barcelona. The winner of the tournament will win the second ticket to the 10th edition of the Nike International Junior Tournament that will take place during the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four weekend in Istanbul, Turkey. KK Zagreb CO won the first ticket last week when it was victorious at the Citta di Roma Tournament. Zagreb beat Fenerbahce Ulker 62-52 in the final of the tournament Dario Saric, champion and MVP of the 2010 NIJT, reached the same stage in Rome as well winning another title and MVP award. He tailed 19.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals in four games to reach an index rating of 30.5 for the entire tournament. Two more tournaments in Kaunas and Belgrade will offer its champions the right to play in the Nike International Junior Tournament at the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four!

The 2011 edition of the Citta di Roma Tournament saw a new champion celebrate as KK Zagreb CO beat Fenerbache-Ulker 62-52 in the final of the tournament. The trophy isnt the only thing Zagreb won but also the first ticket to the 2012 Nike International Junior Tournament that will take place during the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four.

Lietuvos Rytas won the 33rd edition of the Ciutat de LHospitalet tournament by dethroning FC Barcelona Regal 72-68 in the final behind 21 points from Augustinas Jankaitis and 16 from Tomas Galeckas.

The Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Classification Tournament Kaunas will be held February 10 to 12 in the city of Kaunas, Lithuania. The tournament, to be played at Zalgirio Arena, will see one Lithuanian team compete against seven international teams.

The Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Classification Tournament Belgrade will be held February 24 to 26 in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. Another team will qualify for the final round at the 2012 Istanbul Final Four.
