Fenerbahce Istanbul will wrap up the Euroleague Basketball World Tour 2015 later tonight when it visits the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tipoff is scheduled for 19:00 local time (02:00 CET). Fenerbahce started its trip through the United States strong with a 96-101 victory over the Brooklyn Nets Monday in New York. Jan Vesely led five Fenerbahce scorers in double figures with 18 points and Kostas Sloukas shined with 11 points and 11 assists in the victory.
Fenerbahce will not be at full strength for the contest at Chesapeake Energy Arena; Pero Antic and Bobby Dixon, who did not play in Monday’s game, are not expected to play. Ricky Hickman remains sidelined as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered last season.
Oklahoma City features several players familiar to European basketball fans. Former NBA MVP Kevin Durant is a regular with Team USA, which he led to gold medals at the 2010 Basketball World Cup and 2012 Olympic Games alongside point guard Russell Westbrook. Spanish national team big man Serge Ibaka played briefly in the Euroleague for Real Madrid. And center Enes Kanter came through the Fenerbahce junior system. When these teams played one another two years ago in Istanbul, Durant scored 24 to lead Oklahoma City to a 95-82 victory.
