Kyle Hines - Brose BasketsHello to all Euroleague fans. Welcome to my second blog entry for Euroleague.net. It has been awhile since my last entry and a lot has changed. When I last wrote, we were coming off a two-game winning streak with big wins against Olympiacos and Charleroi. Since then, we kind of hit a difficult and unlucky time, falling out of the Top 16. The part that was crazy is that we could easily have has six or seven wins this season and been in the Top 16. Of our first six losses, four could have gone in our direction. Two of them we lost on buzzer-beating game-winning shots. That is something I’ve learned in my first Euroleague season, that all it can take is one possession, one play, or one basket to easily shape a game or even an entire season. If a shot didn't fall or a ball had bounced in a different direction, we could easily have ended up sitting in the top of our group instead of the bottom, but I guess that is how it is sometimes.

The beginning of our difficult and unlucky losing streak began against Real Madrid. Our goal before the game was to keep the game close, in which case we knew that we would have opportunities at the end of the game to get the win. We were able to accomplish this throughout the entire game and took the game into overtime. In the final moments in overtime, we were able to tie the game with less than 5 seconds remaining on the clock. We were then able to get them to miss their first shot, but couldn't stop them from getting an offensive rebound and tap-in at the buzzer.

Our next two games, we faced Unicaja and Roma in Bamberg. Despite our loss from the previous week, we were still very confident. At that point, we were undefeated at home and we knew both... more

Kyle Hines - Brose Baskets_28776 Welcome, Euroleague and basketball fans around the world, from Bamberg, Germany a.k.a. "Freak City". I will explain later why Bamberg is nicknamed "Freak City". After a three-year absence from Euroleague competition, Brose Baskets Bamberg is making its return this season. My name is Kyle Hines and I will be blogging for you all this season. Before I start, I feel it is important that I first give you all a small introduction of myself. I'm originally from Sicklerville, New Jersey, a small suburban town about 20 miles outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I played in college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It is a university not known for its rich basketball history, only being member of the NCAA's first division since 1994, but is still a growing program on the rise. And let me shout out to my fellow Spartan, Ronnie Burrell, who also competes in the Euroleague for Asseco Prokom.

I'm entering my third year professionally in Europe. This is my first year as a member of the Brose Baskets Bamberg team. I spent my first two seasons playing with Prima Veroli in the Italian second division. Since I came to Europe, it has my goal to compete at the Euroleague level against the best teams and best players in all of Europe. I got the opportunity this past summer to reach that goal by becoming part of Brose. Reyshawn Terry and I became the two newest members of an already strong nucleus of players returning from... more
