Nike IJT Group A report: CSKA Moscow - Montepaschi Siena
Denis Polokhin - CSKA - Junior Tournament Defending Nike International Junior Tournament champs, CSKA Moscow, opened the 2007 event with a 50-47 over Montepaschi Siena. CSKA started the game slow, and trailed 2-7, but then came with a 14-2 run that gave the CSKA a 16-9 lead after 10 minutes. Montepaschi fought back, but CSKA maintained the lead and finished the first half up 24-18. Halfway through the third quarter, Moscow built its first double-digit lead, 31-21, but was unable to secure the win. Montepaschi came back in the last minutes, but came one possession short as both teams failed to score in the final 2 minutes and Montepaschi's attempt to send the game to overtime were unsuccessful. Denis Polokhin led CSKA with the first double-double of the tournament – 14 rebounds and 10 rebounds, while Anton Brindyukov scored 11. Domenico Barozzi led Montepaschi with 19 points.
