Nike IJT Group B report: Prokom Trefl - Cibona
Filip Kruslin - Cibona - Junior Tournament Cibona Zagreb topped Prokom Trefl Sopot 59-77 in an exciting game, that was full of energy and passion early Friday afternoon on Court 2. Two teams with similar basketball styles played a transition game and ran the floor well, with some spectacular plays on both sides of the court and big battles under the baskets. The difference between the two teams was not as big as the 18-point margin would suggest. Prokom, led by Krzystof Krajniewski, saw its starting center Piotr Wojdyr pick up three early fouls and then guard Jakub Jalucki sprained his ankle after just 13 minutes. Despite that, Prokom led 17-13 after 10 minutes and the score was tied at 36-36 at halftime. Cibona got a big boost from the three-point shooting of Sven Smajlagic, who hit three in the first half. The decisive factor in the second half was Cibona's offensive stability, something coach Rimantas Rimantas’s team lacked in the last two periods. Prokom was killed by Cibona on the offensive boards, where Leon Radosevic was the absolute dominator with 9 offensive rebounds and 17 in total to go with his 16 points. Filip Kruslin also finished with 16, while first-half hero Smajlagic topped his team with 19. Krajniewski (21 points), Mateusz Kostrzewski (11) and Adam Waczynski (10) all scored double figures for the Poles.
