Montepaschi Siena collected its first win in the NIJ tournament after beating Olympiacos Piraeus 65-59, and downed the losing side to a 0-2 record. Right before the end of the first quarter Montepaschi capped an 11-0 run on the way to a 23-11 lead after ten minutes. Domenico Barozzi led Montepaschi to a 16 point lead before Olympiacos closed to 39-27 at the end of the first half. Olympiacos woke up in the third quarter, and came back to 41-35 but Barozzi made it a double-digit margin game again with 10 minutes on the clock, 50-40. Olympiacos didn't let go and managed to take the lead for the first time in the game, 52-53, on the way to a 4 point lead, 55-59, but with 3 minutes to play, but until the final buzzer failed to score. Montepaschi made a 10-0 run and kept their chances to appear in the finals. Barozzi finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds and Vincenzo De Bartolo added 15. Michail-Kosmas Kouris led Olympiacos with 19 and Zisis Sarikopoulos added 18 points and 13 rebounds.
