A very good all-around performance and a devastating third quarter gave JIT favorites Zalgiris an impressive 79-43 win over Prokom. The Polish team managed to stay in the game in the first half despite having three of its players in early foul trouble, but lost any contact whatsoever in the third period, where the scoreline went from 34-27 at halftime to 62-33 for the Lithuanians. The margin reached up to 38 points, 75-37 on the 35th minute. Coach Rimvydas Samulenas’s team had four players scoring double figures in Donatas Motiejunas (15), Zygimantas Janavicius (14), Vaidas Cepukaitis (11), and Adas Juskevicius (10). Zalgiris also did a good job in shutting off Prokom’s usual leader Krzystof Krajniewski, who finished with just 6 points, behind his teammates Michal Kowalski (11) and Adam Waczynski (10).
