Sony becomes official Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four sponsor
Euroleague Basketball is pleased to announce a new partnership that makes Sony, the worldwide leader in quality electronics, an official sponsor of the 2011 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Barcelona. Under this agreement, Sony becomes the official provider of technical equipment – including televisions and computers – for the Final Four. Also included in the agreement will be the promotion of Sony goods at the Final Four, to be held May 6 to 8 at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, and player interaction using Sony products.
To signal the start of Sony’s sponsorship, the company’s Sony Style store, located on the famous Rambla de Catalunya in Barcelona, displayed the Euroleague Basketball championship trophy on Saturday, April 30. Fans who stop by Sony Style could have their picture taken with the same trophy that the superstars of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague dream of lifting to the sky at the end of the Final Four!
Also, Sony and Euroleague saw a perfect opportunity in the launching of Sony’s new Bloggie 3D camera with four Turkish Airlines Euroleague stars that will be competing to raise the Championship Trophy. Thus on Thursday morning, at the Hotel Juan Carlos I, Doron Perkins (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Pietro Aradori (Montepaschi Siena), Drew Nicholas (Panathinaikos Athens) and Sergio Rodríguez (Real Madrid) each will receive one of the newest gadgets in the Sony repertoire that they’ll use to share with their fans their experience throughout the 2011 Final Four in 3D format. Jordi Vila, Sony Iberia’s Marketing Director, showed his enthusiasm and satisfaction: “We take part in a competition in which elements like awesomeness and entertainment, core characteristics of Sony’s DNA, merge with great universal values such as effort, competitiveness, fair play and perseverance”.
Jordi Bertomeu, President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said: “We are happy to welcome Sony to the Euroleague family and are sure we will provide Sony with an excellent platform to further increase their prestigious brand identity.”
