Tribute to the champs, Panathinaikos: Antonis Fotsis!
As the player who goes back furthest wearing Panathinaikos green – to 1997! – veteran forward Antonis Fotsis was a major contributor to the club's sixth and his third Euroleague crown. Fotsis, who won his first Euroleague title with Panathinaikos in 2000, turned in another strong season as a quiet leader and versatile player who understood in each game what was needed to help the Greens win. That couldn't have been more clear than in Barcelona, where he played the second-most minutes among the champs, but focused his efforts in many different areas. In the semifinal against Siena, Fotsis pumped in 14 points – including a pair of clutch three-pointers – to steer the Greens to the title game. In the final, he led Panathinaikos in minutes played and rebounds. Fotsis rejected 2 shots in the first quarter, giving him the most by any player in the Final Four. He also scored on the offensive glass early to help his team take charge en route to a memorable victory. Tribute to Panathinaikos: Antonis Fotsis
