Tribute to the champs, Panathinaikos: Kostas Kaimakoglou!
Following a standout rookie season in the Euroleague, Kostas Kaimakoglou joined Panathinaikos last summer and instantly became a player that head coach Zeljko Obradovic could call on when needed, even in a part-time starting role. Kaimakoglou's playing time fluctuated, but his effort and efficiency never waned. He starred in the victories to finish the Regular Season and begin the Top 16, but was soon sidelined with a leg injury and was not relied on for big minutes following his return to action. Nevertheless, Kaimakoglou remained a versatile threat at forward, a player that could rebound, play defense and hit three-pointers. In the end, Kaimakoglou was rewarded for his efforts by coming on as a reserve for the final seconds of the championship game and getting the opportunity to celebrate his first Euroleague title in style!
