Tribute to the champs, Panathinaikos: Ian Vougioukas!
Despite entering the season with a total of just 16 minutes of Euroleague experience under his belt, Ian Vougioukas finished it as Panathinaikos's starting center in the 2011 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. Vougioukas took part in all 22 games for the Greens this season and arrived in Barcelona ready to maximize the opportunity he received. He made an impact in a physical semifinal, helping put Montepaschi Siena in trouble by drawing 6 fouls in 16 minutes. He also starred in one of the weekend's best plays, when he finished a pick-and-roll with a great pass to Nick Calathes to highlight a decisive Panathinaikos run. In the final, two days later, Vougioukas helped the Greens to a fast start against Maccabi Electra, setting the tone in the paint with a pair of baskets and a blocked shot in the game's first 3 minutes. Even though foul trouble limited his impact after that, Vougioukas had already proven to be a difference-maker on the way to a Euroleague title. Tribute to Panathinaikos: Ian Vougioukas
