Tribute to the champs, Panathinaikos: Dusan Sakota!
A versatile forward with unlimited shooting range, silky smooth Dusan Sakota is already a two-time Euroleague winner at age 23. His quickness and soft touch make him a natural-born mismatch for opposing defenses and Panathinaikos head coach Zeljko Obradovic is fully aware of that potential in Sakota. In 2008-09, he made nine Euroleague appearances, with an early season-high 13 points in the final regular season game. Although he did not see action during the Final Four, Sakota was something of a good-luck charm, considering that after a one-season away from the club as a double-digit scorer for another Greek team, his return coincided with Panathinaikos getting back to the Final Four. With two Euroleague titles in two tries under his belt, the future is certainly bright for Sakota, who has opted to be patient and learn from the best coach in European basketball history. His hard work is sure to pay off in the short run.
