The Reds finish the Final Four fourth
Regal FC Barcelona finished the 2008-09 Euroleague Basketball season in third place after cruising to a 79-95 victory over Olympiacos Piraeus at o2 World in Berlin. In a fast-paced and entertaining game, Barcelona led from start to finish, pulling away with a 0-15 charge that bridged the first and second periods, as it held the Reds without a basket for nearly seven minutes. David Andersen scored 20 to pace Barca, which finished the season with 18 wins – more than any team in the Euroleague this season. Juan Carlos Navarro and Jaka Lakovic added 14 apiece for the winners and Daniel Santiago scored 10. Lakovic also dished 5 steals.

Olympiacos, out of the Final by a single basket

Fan Mail: Yotam Halperin
A young veteran at 25, Yotam Halperin has relied on more experience than most players his age to help Olympiacos reach its first Final Four this decade. In his eighth Euroleague season, Halperin already has won back-to-back titles and made it to three previous Final Fours with his former team, Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Blog: Josh Childress
"Well, we are a week away from the Final Four in Berlin and we are getting a bit anxious. Both my team and I have worked hard all season to make it to this point. We have battled through fatigue, injuries and many tough opponents - and it's been a lot of fun doing it! Olympiacos hasn't been to the Final Four in 10 years, so this is definitely good for the team and for the fans."
Interview: Ioannis Bourousis
Olympiacos Piraeus is back in the Final Four for the first time in a decade and one of its major catalysts in that historic step has been center Ioannis Bourousis. The 25-year-old big man's seventh Euroleague season has been the best of his career as Bourousis led the Reds in both scoring and rebounding.
Interview: Panagiotis Giannakis
A symbol of Greek basketball greatness for 30 years, Panagiotis Giannakis of Olympiacos will have no problems with experience despite making his Final Four coaching debut in Berlin. Giannakis was a five-time Final Four participant as a player and the captain of Greece's first continental club champion.
Nikola Vujcic: Q&A, Slideshow, Video
As a five-time All-Euroleague selection and the competition's top-ranked player all decade, Nikola Vujcic already has enjoyed his fair share of success. This season, his magic touch rubbed off on a new team, Olympiacos, whom Vujcic helps lead to Berlin in search of his third Euroleague crown in six seasons.
Return of the Reds
After a decade-long effort, one of the Europe's signature clubs, Olympiacos Piraeus, has regained its place among the basketball elite. With an iconic Greek legend on the bench and a stable of diverse talents at his command, the Reds will try in Berlin to duplicate the club's 1997 run to the Euroleague trophy!

One of the big reasons any team makes the Final Four is solid contributions up and down the roster, and Olympiacos certainly got one of those from forward Georgios Printezis, who in his sixth Euroleague season busted out to rank fourth on the Reds in both scoring and rebounding. Check out his wallpaper!
