Tribute to the champs, Olympiacos: Joey Dorsey!
A welcome frontcourt presence from the time he arrived midway through the season, Joey Dorsey helped Olympiacos improve in defense and toughness. His intensity, shot-blocking ability and feel for rebounding complemented Kyle Hines's efforts and allowed Coach Dusan Ivkovic to have a physical, athletic player in the middle all game long. Dorsey started the season with Caja Laboral, but didn't see much playing time with the Spanish powerhouse. Once he joined Olympiacos before the start of the Top 16, Dorsey became a pillar in the Reds' frontcourt, as he averaged 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in that phase. Dorsey was instrumental in the fourth quarter of the semifinal against FC Barcelona Regal, generating second-chance options for his team with his offensive boards. Dorsey had 8 points, 5 rebounds and a great impact on that game. Despite being held scoreless in the final, his determination and never-quit mentality was critical for Olympiacos.
