Tribute to the champs, Olympiacos: Kostas Sloukas!
Combo guard Kostas Sloukas was a European superstar at youth levels - and has now proved his value in the 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Sloukas did not play until regular season Game 8, but once he stepped on the court, he showed great determination, leadership and the ability to perform at his best in clutch situations. Sloukas buried a shot from beyond midcourt to take a Top 16 game against Galatasaray Cafe Crown to overtime. In Top 16 Game 4 and with the chance to qualify on the line, Sloukas made the go-ahead free throws in Olympiacos's 65-67 critical road win against Anadolu Efes. Once in the Final Four, Sloukas sank a key three-pointer in the title game against CSKA which allowed Olympiacos to keep its comeback going early in the fourth quarter. There is no doubt that with Sloukas, the Reds have a great future.
