James Nunnally, a first-season swingman who was Fenerbahce Istanbul's main roster addition in the off-season, became an important two-way weapon for the eventual champs. After a slow start and an adjustment period, Nunnally scored in double figures five times in the next nine rounds, including a team-high 18 in a home triumph against Real Madrid, a season-high 21 at Panathinaikos Athens and 11 in an important overtime road win against CSKA Moscow. He came up big again in the playoffs with 12 points on 3-of-3 three-point shooting in Game 3 against Panathinaikos, which allowed Fenerbahce to seal a ticket to its third consecutive Final Four. At the big event at the Sinan Erdem Dome, Nunnally had 2 points in both the semifinal against Real Madrid and championship game against Olympiacos Piraeus, but as all season long, his defense was a key part of his contribution. Nunnally finished the season with 5.6 points on 45.1% three-point shooting and 2.0 rebounds in 34 EuroLeague games to become a EuroLeague champion in his first season in the competition!
