50 Years legends partake in Final Four activities
The 2008 Final Four in Madrid will go down in history not only for the feats of the four championship-worthy clubs that will battle to become the new Euroleague champion, but also for the special events that will mark the celebration of 50 Years of European Club Basketball. The vast majority of the 50 players, coaches and referees honored for their contributions to the sport over the past half-century will be on hand this weekend and will participate in special events surrounding the games.
Emiliano Rodriguez and Lolo Sainz, two of the greatest basketball legends in the history of Real Madrid, the most-crowned club in European club competition history, will take part in the 2008 Final Four opening press conference Thursday at 12:15 CET at the Community of Madrid Sports Palace, site of the Final Four games.
One of the highlights of the weekend will be the 50 Years Photo Exhibition. The exhibit’s opening ceremony at the media workroom at the Community of Madrid Sports Palace will feature Dino Meneghin, Pedro Ferrandiz and exposition coordinator Vladimir Stankovic.
Emiliano Rodriguez, Arvydas Sabonis, Dino Meneghin, Toni Kukoc, Walter Szczerbiak, Bob McAdoo and Vlade Divac will be presenters at the Euroleague Awards Ceremony at Circo Price on Saturday evening.
Vlade Divac will also be present at the Nike International Junior Tournament final at the Community of Madrid Sports Palace and will present awards after the game.
