Tribute to the champs, CSKA Moscow: Ettore Messina!
With CSKA Moscow's victory in the 2008 Final Four, the name of Ettore Messina continues to climb higher on the list of the most successful head coaches in the history of basketball. Already chosen among the 10 greatest coaches in the first 50 Years of European Club Basketball, Messina's newest triumph made him just the fifth one to win four Euroleague titles. He also became the first head coach, and only the second person ever, to left more than one continental crown with two different clubs. With a pair of Euroleague trophies separated by a two-point runner-up finish in his three seasons at CSKA, Messina has helped revive Russia's
standing as a world- class basketball capital. And by any measure - historic or modern, continental or global - Messina has joined a class reserved for the true elite of the coaching profession.
