Cibona Zagreb finished its 2008 tour in the Nike Junior Tournament with a win over Red Star Belgrade 90-77 in Group A. Cibona wrote its first win after three losses, while Red Star gave a close fight in the first two days but will go back home winless. Cibona was the better team today and held a big lead starting midway in the second quarter. Red Star's comeback attempt in the closing minutes effect the eventual winner. Tomislav Zubcic shinned again with a monster double-double when he finished with 22 points, 18 reounds and ive steals, Dino Hodzic added 21, Goran Fodor hit 18 and Leon Radosevic finished with 15 points in bad percentages. Aleksander Stevovic led Rd Star with 15 points, Lazar Radosavijevic had 14 while Nemanja Nedovic finished with 12.
Zubcic took over the game already in the first quarter but his team held just a 19-16 lead after ten minutes. Cibona took its first double-digit in the 15th minute, as Hodzic and Zubcic dominated on the way to a 40-29 half time lead. An 8-1 run early in the second half made it a 20 point game, which survived until the final buzzer. Red Star put pressure on the ball and made it all the way back to minus 11 in the final minute, but that wasn't enough to turn the game over.
