Spanoulis, king of the media session
The last opportunity for the media members to talk to the finalists, which was planned to begin before the end of Olympiacos practice and just before Real Madrid's practice, turned into one joined media availability session. The huge interest from Spanish, Greek and other international media created quite a crowded scene on the Barclaycard Center floor. Even if the players would have wanted to run away from the media, they would not able to do it because of the heavy traffic media members created. Georgios Printezis, Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez drew a huge interest from the media, but none of them could match the number of cameras and microphones Vassilis Spanoulis had pointed towards him. From what the players from both sides said, both teams seem confident before the championship game. Just as they should be having made it this far.

Papaloukas schools reporters in media game
The annual Final Four media game was once again a fantastic show in skill, gamesmanship and laughs on Saturday afternoon at Barclaycard Center. Fotios Katsikaris coached former Euroleague champ Theo Papaloukas and the White Team, while Dirk Bauermann guided a Nikola Vujcic-led Blue Team. After Vujcic banked in the first basket for the blue team, Papaloukas took a pass from Amaia Valdemoro, one of Spain’s best-ever women’s players, for a triple and the white team’s first points. The Blues threatened to pull away when a David Pick three-pointer gave them a 9-13 edge. A layup by Konstantinos Skoulas and a free throws by Vassilis Papapendreou pushed Blue to a 13-20 lead at the break. Thanasis Asproulias’s layup and no-look assist to Papaloukas showed that Team White was going to fight hard in the second half. Valdemoro’s pull-up jumper completed the White comeback at 24-23. All told, it was a 15-3 run for the Whites as they took control for good. Blue had a chance late with the ball and trailing by 2, but a Papaloukas steal sealed the victory. Papaloukas led all scorers with 10 points as his Whites won 28-26.

Platinum & Legends Game a success at Barclaycard Center
The first edition of the Euroleague Basketball Platinum & Legends game, a new initiative at the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, took place at Barclaycard Center on Saturday to the delight of the two-dozen participants. Those Final Four attendees with special platinum tickets were given the chance to showcase their skills on the same court as this year's Final Four players along with some Euroleague legends. The Green Team featured former Euroleague winner Ramunas Siskauska and former Eurocup Coach of the Year Fotis Katsikaris. The White Team was coached by Lolo Sainz - the only person to win multiple Euroleague titles as a player and coach – plus former Euroleague winners Joe Arlauckas and Sergey Panov. Arlauckas had a strong start, but a three-pointer by former CSKA Moscow president Sergey Kushchenko gave the Greens a 7-8 lead. Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar president Andrey Vedishev had good minutes for the Greens, but Arlauckas and Panov gave the Whites a 15-13 edge. A great moment came when 11-year-old Loudovikos Bitzios collected a steal against Arlauckas and scored his first basket. Loudovikos had 6 first-half points to give the Greens an 18-21 edge at the break. Only Panov and Arlauckas scored for the Whites, while Alexandros Tsetsis gave the Green Team a 22-27 lead. Panov and Arlauckas connected from downtown and a layup by Don Namir gave the Whites a 30-27 advantage; Namir fell on the floor after a chest bump with Arlauckas, celebrating his basket! Panov dunked (!) and added a layup to bring the Whites within 34-35 with 43.3 seconds left. Panov drew a foul with 7.4 seconds left and split his shots for a 35-35 tie. In the end, everybody was a winner as the Euroleague Basketball Platinum & Legends Game finished in a tie and a group picture finished the fun event in style.

After press conference, media gets its own Trophy Tour
For the vast majority of fans attending the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, whether this season in Madrid or any other, Saturday is the natural choice of best day to visit the city and to spend time at the Fanzone. However for members of the media, Saturday remains a very busy day with the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Championship Game Press Conference and media availability sessions often keeping the them away from some of the very exhibits they most want to see. One of them is the adidas Trophy Tour. So when the media was unable to visit the adidas booth at Plaza de Oriente, the Euroleague trophy came to them. After the Saturday afternoon press conference, the Euroleague’s trophy handlers allowed the assembled media their chance to get up and personal with the Euroleague’s greatest prize. Reporters from near and far took advantage for their own little Trophy Tour.
