Tribute to the champs, Regal FC Barcelona: Gianluca Basile!
The Euroleague's career leader in both games played and three-point shots made, Gianluca Baslie completed his trophy case in Paris by winning his first Euroleague crown. Although he has made a career out of burying clutch triples, the 35-year-old sniper may remember best his shot from the wing with just over a minute left in the title game. As it fell through the net, Barcelona's celebration started in earnest. Basile's experience helped him become an ideal perimeter threat off the bench for Barcelona, a player who can make the difference on either end of the floor with a key steal, a big shot or a well-timed pass. For proof of his impact, Barcelona was 7-0 this season in games in which Basile made multiple three-pointers, assists or steals.
