Tribute to the champs, Regal FC Barcelona: Ricky Rubio!
A world basketball icon at the tender age of 19, Ricky Rubio made his first season with Regal FC Barcelona a truly memorable one. The playmaking and defensive whiz was the only player on Barcelona's roster to start every game. He finished the season ranked sixth among all Euroleague players in assists and was voted the Euroleague Rising Star Trophy winner. Once on the biggest of stages, Rubio shined brighter, scoring 10 points and dishing 8 assists in his first Final Four game, a hard-earned semifinal victory over CSKA. In the title game, Rubio was Barcelona's third-best scorer, with 9 points. Then, like a kid in a candy shop, he was at the heart of the victory celebration, leading the cheers from the bench before racing to cut down the nets after the buzzer, the youngest starter for a Euroleague champion all decade!
