A week before it starts, Euroleague Basketball has announced that all single seats have been sold out for the 2006 Final Four, to be held April 28 to 30 in Prague, the Czech Republic captial. No more tickets are available except those located in skyboxes at state-of-the-art Sazka Arena, whose basketball capacity is 16,805 specatators. Despite being the first major basketball event hosted in a country without a Euroleague team, single seats for the 2006 Final Four were largely bought up by early April, even before the names of the qualified teams - CSKA Moscow, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv, Tau Ceramica and Winterthur FCB - were known. "The Euroleague is proud to have sold all available single seats for the 2006 Final Four in Prague, because it proves that our particular brand of basketball sells far beyond the confines of the cities and countries where we have teams," Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu said. "Thanks go to the organizing committee, Cezka Sportovni, and to city of Prague, as well as to the fans from 42 countries who have bought tickets. I can guarantee they will have a great time at the Final Four."
Almost two-thirds of the basketball seating capacity at Sazka Arena, a total of 10,799 tickets, were put on sale November 8, 2005, to coincide with the start of the Euroleague regular season. Since then, fans in an amazing 37 different countries spanning the globe - from New Zealand to Canada - bought tickets for the event. This marked the second season in which Final Four tickets were available on-line, in multi-language formats linked from all Euroleague club and ULEB member league websites, providing fans worldwide with equal access to one of the signature events of European sports. Ticket prices for the exciting two days of competition ranged between 70€ and 1,290€ for four-game packages. The rest of the tickets were reserved for the teams that eventually qualified for the Final Four and for Euroleague Basketball guests.
The fans going to Prague will not only get to enjoy some of the best basketball anywhere, but one of world's great indoor arenas, too. Sazka Arena features an amazing array of benefits and services, including: four restaurants, seven bars, two cafes, 20 fast-food outlets, 66 private suites on a separate level, 1,560 club seats on a separate level, a giant four-sided video display, not to mention first-rate media and broadcasting facilities.
