Final Four refs announced!
The names of the eight referees who will work the Final Four have been announced by the Euroleague. Looking as always toward the future of European basketball, the Euroleague decided to include two referees who will make their Final Four debuts. The full list of referees includes: Ilija Belosevic (Serbia-Montenegro), Romualdas Brazauskas (Lithuania), Srdan Dozai (Croatia), Stelios Koukoulekidis (Greece), Joan Carles Mitjana (Spain), Nikos Pitsilkas (Greece), Mateo Ramos (Spain) and Petr Sudek (Slovakia). The veterans of previous Final Fours are Belosevic, Brazauskas, Koukoulekidis, Mitjana, Pitsilkas and Ramos. Those who will be working their first Final Four tournaments are Dozai and Sudek. By assigning newcomers to the Final Four officiating crew, the Euroleague aims both to reward professional competency and diversify the pool of referees with experience in Europe's top basketball event. Along with refereeing assignments, the appointment of two game commissioners for the Final Four was announced. They are Wieslaw Zych of Poland and Miodrag Djordjevic of Slovenia. The Final Four is to be held April 29 to May 1 at Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel.
