2007-08 Euroleague, phase by phase
 The 2008 Euroleague Final Four saw CSKA conquer its sixth Euroleague title - its second in three years after a 35-year draught dating back from 1971. CSKA rounded a perfect weekend with a 77-91 win in the title game against Maccabi. CSKA had previously downed Tau Ceramica 79-83 in an outstanding semifinal that took place right after the 50 Years of European Club Basketball ceremony. The historic season-long celebration of 50 Years of European Club Basketball peaked as a sell-out crowd wildly cheered 38 of the most important personalities in the history of the game as they took the floor for a once-in-a-lifetime event. Moreover, CSKA star guard Ramunas Siskauskas was chosen as the 2007-08 Euroleague MVP, giving added value to his team's outstanding season. Maccabi had rallied to down Montepaschi Siena 85-92 in the other semifinal. Euroleague Basketball honoured the best continental legends but was also able to look to the future in an intense, spectacular Final Four that saw CSKA claim its sixth continental crown.

CSKA Moscow has won its fifth Euroleague title! CSKA became the second winningest team in European club competition and won its second Euroleague title in three years - its sixth overall after previous wins 1961, 1963, 1969, 1971 and 2006 - by downing Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv 77-91 in the final at the state-of-the-art Community of Madrid Sports Palace in the Spanish capital. Trajan Langdon was named Final Four MVP after posting 21 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting and 7 rebounds to lead six CSKA scorers in double figures in victory. Head coach Ettore Messina won his fourth Euroleague title, moving into a tie for second place all-time with legends Pedro Ferrandiz, Alexander Gomelskiy and Bozidar Maljkovic, all of whom trail only Zeljko Obradovic of Panathinaikos. J.R. Holden added 14 points while Matjaz Smodis, David Andersen and freshly crowned Euroleague MVP Ramunas Siskauskas scored 13 points apiece. Will Bynum paced Maccabi with 23 points. A 0-10 run in the fourth quarter sealed the outcome.

Montepaschi Siena finished the 2007-08 Euroleague season with a smile by downing Tau Ceramica 97-93 in overtime in the Third Place game, played right before the Grand Final. The Third Place game lived up to its own tradition, being an exciting, fun-to-watch showdown. Ksistof Lavrinovic paced Montepaschi with 19 points and Terrell McIntyre shined with 16 points and a new Euroleague Final Four record 12 assists. Pete Mickeal led Tau with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Pablo Prigioni dished 11 assists. A free throw by Lavrinovic tied the game with 4.7 seconds left in regulation and forced overtime. An early 9-0 run in the extra period put Montepaschi ahead for good, as Tau did not recover down the stretch.

In one of the most outstanding comebacks in Final Four history, Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv reached its fourth Euroleague final in five years by rallying to down Montepaschi Siena 85-92 in the first semifinal in Madrid. Maccabi trailed by as many as 18 in the second period, but stormed back with a 0-13 charge bridging the third and fourth periods to take the lead. Spirited play from Alex Garcia and team captain Derrick Sharp, who both scored season-highs off the bench, led an effort of 70 bench points. Garcia paced Maccabi with 19 points, Sharp scored 17 while Will Bynum finished with 13 points and 7 assists. Terrell McIntyre had a game-high 26 points and 5 assists in defeat. Ksistof Lavrinovic tied it at 78-78 with 2 minutes to go but Bynum and Garcia stepped up to make it a nine-point game, 78-87, enough to ice the game from the line to the delight of thousands of Maccabi fans in the stands.

CSKA booked a spot in its third straight Euroleague Basketball final holding off Tau Ceramica 79-83 in the second semifinal of the 2008 Final Four at the Community of Madrid Sports Palace on Friday in the Spanish capital. Ramunas Siskauskas iced the game with a pair of free throws with 6.5 seconds left after Tau tried to rally in the final 2 minutes. Siskauskas finished with 16 points as one of five CSKA scorers in double figures, as his team kept its chances to win its sixth Euroleague title. Tau lost in semifinals for the third consecutive season despite leading at halftime and still being ahead early in the fourth quarter. David Andersen missed only one shot on his way to 16 points as well for CSKA, while J.R. Holden finished with 15. Igor Rakocevic paced Tau with 19 while Tiago Splitter and Zoran Planinic scored 17 points apiece in defeat. A dunk by Theo Papaloukas capped a 0-10 run that put CSKA ahead for good, 66-71, as Tau trailed all the way from that moment. out, giving the Reds a final chance in the closing seconds.
