CC Harrison added 21 points and 8 rebounds, Peter Van Paassen posted a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds while Avis Wyatt had 13 points for Amsterdam. Taron Downey led Den Bosch with 23 points. Anthony Richardson added 18 while David Jackson had 12 for EiffelTowers, that were without starting point guard Dean Oliver. Gipson had 11 points in the first quarter, including a buzzer-beating triple for a 29-18 Amsterdam lead after 10 minutes. Downey and Richardson brought EiffelTowers back to life and got the guests within 41-39 late in the first half. Van Paassen, Harrison and Wyatt fueled a game-breaking 20-3 run that sealed the outcome, 64-44. EiffelTowers managed to get within 71-63 with 8 minutes to go but Gipson made sure to keep Amsterdam way ahead until the final buzzer. MORE

The Dutch League starts as balanced as it has been in recent seasons, with a good number of teams trying to dethrone defending champion MyGuide Amsterdam. Even with that, Amsterdam counts on CC Harrison, Teddy Gipson and Peter van Paassen to stay as the team to beat in the country. Its main rivals will be EiffelTowers Den Bosch, that won consecutive league titles in 2006 and 2007. EiffelTowers kept a core of players featuring Dean Oliver, Travis Young, Kees Akerboom and Marcel Aarts while adding Jerome Beasley or Anthony Richardson. West Brabant Giants, Matrixx Magixx, Rotterdam Challengers and Hanzevast Capitals are ready to upset any of the Dutch powerhouses. Patrick Pope and Tim Blue are set to lead the Giants this season, while the Capitals rely on Rogier Jansen and Zoran Krstanovic. Matrixx Magixx features Ryan Sears, Erik Nelson and Darnell Wilson while the Challengers rely on Sullivan Sykes and Aaron Williams.
