FMP, 2009 champion

For the third year in a row, the qualifying process to become Europe's junior club champion will pass through the basketball capital of Belgrade, Serbia, where the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Classification Tournament Belgrade-JCT will be played from February 12-to 14, 2010. This time, eight teams will play in two groups in three different arenas in the Serbian capital. Of course, host club FMP arrives as the favorite after having won the last two continental titles. They will be grouped with Asvel Basket of France, Ventspils of Latvia and Buducnost of Montenegro. In the other group are INSEP of France, Crvena Zvezda and Partizan Belgrade of Serbia, and Brose Baskets of Germany. Brose Baskets and Buducnost are the only non-Serbian teams back from last season, so the new faces from France and Latvia should be a plus for the local fans. The tournament winner will acvance to the Nike International Junior Tournament at the 2010 Final Four in Paris from May 7-9.
