2012 NIJT Kaunas Slideshow
Host Zalgiris is the champion of Kaunas International Junior Tournament and will be headed to the Nike International Junior Tournament finals during Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four weekend in Istanbul this May.
Zalgiris dominated BC Khimki Moscow Region 107-60
in Sunday’s title game as Justas Tamulis scored 21 points. Tomas Dimsa, who was named tournament MVP after the game, added 20, while All-Tournament team member Marius Grigonas tallied 15 points and 16 assists. Dimsa averaged 20 points and 3 assists per game in the event, while Grigonas was worth 13 points and 7.3 assists per game. Joining them on the All-Tournament team are Stanislav Ilnitsky of Khimki, Davis Geks of VEF Riga and Rasmus Larsen of Vaerlose BBK. Canarias Basketball Academy forward Shane Hammink was named Best Defensive Player and Coach Masiulis of the winning side was voted Best Coach. Earlier, VEF Riga got 23 points in beating Vaerlose BBK 70-85 in the third-place game.
