ONE STEP SHORT
It was a comeback weekend for Maccabi Elite in the 2008 Euroleague Final Four in Madrid.
Maccabi lost to CSKA Moscow in the Euroleague Final for the second time in three years, falling 77-91
. Will Bynum scored 23 to lead the Israeli champs in their 13th Euroleague title game, but it was not enough against CSKA’s balanced attack. On Friday, Maccabi had rallied from an 18-point deficit
to beat Montepaschi Siena 85-92
behind 19 points from Alex Garcia, who led an effort of 70 bench points. A sea of yellow fans was not enough for Maccabi to win its sixth European trophy.
