EUROLEAGUE ALL-DECADE CANDIDATE: Sani Becirovic
Despite career-threatening injuries that caused him to miss almost two full seasons, Sani Becirovic finished the decade as he started it – as one of Europe's top guards. Whether as a teenage scoring machine with Olimpija when the decade started; as a savvy veteran with Panathinaikos en route to the 2007 title; or as a lead guard creating for himself and others during the past two seasons in Roma and Olimpija, Becirovic was always among the coolest and most dangerous players on the floor. The son of a coach, his basketball IQ was never more evident as when he helped Panathinaikos win the 2007 Final Four and lift the trophy. It might be said that Becirovic's biggest talent was finding ways to win.
