EUROLEAGUE ALL-DECADE SELECTION: Dejan Bodiroga
An emblematic superstar of the Euroleague decade, Dejan Bodiroga proved himself to be the symbol of excellence for a new century by lifting consecutive Euroleague trophies with Panathinaikos and Barcelona. Bodiroga made the difference in each, too. First, he was named MVP when the Greens won the Euroleague title in 2002. He went to Barcelona the next year and ended that club's long Euroleague title drought, repeating as Final Four MVP, the only player to do so all decade. Bodiroga's unbelievable one-on-one skills and incredible winning mentality were the perfect complement to his outstanding basketball IQ and earned him All-Euroleague first-team honors in the three consecutive seasons between 2002 and 2004. But perhaps Bodiroga will be remembered most for having the ball in his hands during the closing minutes of all close games - and coming through under pressure with remarkable consistency. He always there when his teams needed him, ready to accept responsibility in all important games by taking the crucial shots anytime, anywhere and always.
