EUROLEAGUE ALL-DECADE SELECTION: Dimitris Diamantidis
A defensive guard like no other in the Euroleague since he arrived, Dimitris Diamantidis has been a main factor in making Panathinaikos the most dominant team of the decade. His reputation as a defender without equal has made Diamantidis the only winner of the Best Defender Trophy, voted for by Euroleague head coaches since 2005. His long arms, quickness, timing and feel for the game turn Diamantidis into the main preoccupation of all opposing offensive players. Limiting him to his outstanding defensive skills, however, would be unfair to Diamantidis. His court vision, size, driving skills and deep range turn him into an excellent offensive player who was without doubt a leader as Panathinaikos won Euroleague titles in 2007 and 2009. He was MVP of his very first Euroleague final, in 2007, when the Greens won it all at home. In 2009, he was the top-rated player for Panathinaikos in the title game. Despite playing under six seasons, Diamantidis ranks fourth in total steals for the decade, not to mention 10th in assists.
· Euroleague champion: 2007, 2009
· Final Four MVP: 2007
