EUROLEAGUE ALL-DECADE CANDIDATE: Denis Marconato
A signature big man in European basketball, Denis Marconato has been one of the continent's most dominant defensive centers this decade. His talent for rebounding and shot-blocking were fundemantal in helping Benetton Treviso reach the Final Four in 2002 and go all the way to the Euroleague title game in 2003. He joined FC Barcelona midway through the decade and reached his third Final Four with his new club in 2006. Currently playing for Montepaschi Siena, in his ninth Euroleague season this decade, Marconato has blocked the second-most shots and pulled the fourth-most rebounds of all Euroleague players since 2000. Marconato will go down in European basketball history as a good-as-gold defender who always gave 100 percent on the floor to win.
