EUROLEAGUE ALL-DECADE CANDIDATE: Luis Scola
by: Euroleague.net
January 14, 2010
A gifted power forward with equal parts talent and determination, Luis Scola lead Tau Ceramica (now Caja Laboral) to great heights this decade. Scola joined the club in his teens, and in his very first Euroleague season was part of the Tau team that reached the Euroleague playoff finals in 2001. Scola soon went from rising star to dominant player as he led Tau to three straight Final Four appearances from 2005 to 2007. An All-Euroleague forward in 2006 and 2007, Scola briefly became the competition's top scorer and was the first player to accumulate 2,000 points. Arguably one of the top scorers around the basket ever, Scola took Tau from little-known to become a Euroleague powerhouse.
