The slate of teams that will fight for the title of continental champion at the 2010 Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament is complete. Eight of Europe's elite junior teams will meet to decide a champion from Thursday, May 6 to Sunday, May 9, during the 2010 Final Four in Paris, France. The recent additions to the event will join four teams that qualified from the classification tournaments held during the season. Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania advanced from the Torneo Città di Roma in the Italian capital. Cajasol of Spain made it through the Torneig Junior Ciutat de L'Hospitalet in Spain. Defending champion FMP of Serbia, qualified from the NIJT Classification Tournament Belgrade. Union Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia were the winners at the inaugural Barking Abbey Academy Euroleague Basketball Junior Classification Tournament. Joining those four qualifiers are the host French team from Paris, INSEP; the runner-up from Rome, Benetton Basket of Italy; the runner-up from L’Hospitalet, Unicaja of Spain; and KK Split of Croatia. For the second year in a row, The Eternal City opened the NIJT series action with the Torneo Città Di Roma, which Zalgiris Kaunas dominated with four victories by an average of 32 points each - including a 79-55 title-game win over Benetton - to clinch a spot in the Nike International Junior Tournament during the 2010 Final Four in Paris next May!

The 31st annual Torneig de Bàsquet Júnior "Ciutat de L'Hospitalet", played in suburban Barcelona from January 4 to 6, 2010, produced a first-time champion, Cajasol of Seville which completed its undefeated run through the tournament by outlasting Unicaja, its archrival, by 70-72 in the final.

For the third year in a row, the winner of the Belgrade Nike International Junior Tournament is none other than host FMP, which downed INSEP 77-69 in Sunday's title game. FMP's victory will make one other team happy, too.

Union Olimpija is the London NIJT 2010 champ! In the title game, the Slovenian team defeated USK Future Stars Prague by 76-60. Olimpija's Gezim Morina was also named MVP of the tourney. Despite a slow start in the first quarter, which ended 8-21 for USK Future Stars, Union Olimpija reacted in the second quarter outscoring the Czech team by 27-13.
