Siena celebrates - Montepaschi Siena - 3rd place Montepaschi vs. Tau Ceramica - Final Four 2008
Italian champ Montepaschi Siena had a bittersweet return to the Final Four. Even when it could not reach the title and lost in semifinals for the third time in as many appearances, Montepaschi finished third at the Final Four with a 97-93 overtime win over Tau Ceramica on Sunday at the Community of Madrid Sports Palace. Montepaschi used a 9-0 run in the extra period to secure the win. Ksistof Lavrinovic led 5 Montepaschi players in double digits with 19 points. Montepaschi had registered a 85-92 loss against Maccabi in the semifinals despite 26 points from All-Euroleague guard Terrell McIntyre.

PLAYER BLOG: Shaun Stonerook
"For me, my teammates and for the fans in Siena, it's a great feeling to be going to the Final Four. We knew we could get here if we played well from the beginning of the season. For it all to come together the way it has is great. We're excited and hoping for a chance to win." MORE
PLAYER INTERVIEW: Romain Sato
His first Euroleague season has been a learning experience for Romain Sato, but fortunately for his team, Montepaschi Siena, he's a quick learner. If not, the 27-year-old forward could never have made the moves necessary to come all the way from his homeland, the Central African Republic, to the top of Euro ball.
