Lithuanian League, Games 7: November 23-24, 2007

Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris tie atop the Lithuanian League standings, each with a 7-0 record. Zalgiris thrashed Neptunas 111-86 at home on Friday. Marcus Brown led 7 Zalgiris players in double digits with 18 points. Jonas Maciulis and Marko Popovic each added 15, Dainius Salenga had 14, Paulius Jankunas and Goran Jurak got 13 apiece while Michael Bradley scored 10 points for Zalgiris, that broke the game with a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter. Zalgiris rounded a perfect weekend by edging Siauliai 81-74 on Saturday. Brown and Bradley led the winners each with 20 points, Jurak added 14 and Popovic 10 for Zalgiris. Donatas Zavackas had 20 points for Siauliai, Antonio Grant added 16 and Mantas Ruikis 13 for the guests, who led 35-39 at halftime. Zalgiris got the lead for good in the third quarter and even when Siauliai got within 65-61, Bradley and Popovic stepped up to seal the outcome. L. Rytas thrashed Nevezis 108-73 behind 23 points from Chuck Eidson. Michailas Anisimovas added 17, Matt Nielsen had 15, Mindaugas Lukauskis 13, Arturas Jomantas 11 and Martynas Gecevicius 10 in an easy home win for L. Rytas, that led 56-32 at halftime. In other games, Sakalai downed Suduva 88-70 while Atletas topped Alytus 80-71. Alytus recovered with a 107-81 home win against Techasas behind 24 points from Marius Janisius.
