Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris tie atop the Lithuanian League table, each with a 8-0 record. L.Rytas thrashed Neptunas 68-95 in Klaipeda on Saturday. Arturas Jomantas paced the winners with 16 points. Marijonas Petravicius added 15, Chuck Eidson had 12 while Martynas Gecevicius got 10 in an easy win for Rytas, that led 27-50 at halftime and never looked back. Zalgiris had to battle harder to beat Nevezys 81-94 on the road also on Saturday. Jonas Maciulis led the winners with 19 points, Paulius Jankunas posted a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds while Marko Popovic had 10 points for Zalgiris, that trailed 40-39 at halftime. Popovic, Maciulis and Eurelijus Zukauskas stepped up after the break and allowing Zalgiris to get a 58-65 edge after 30 minutes. A three-pointer by Maciulis soon made it 67-80 and Nevezys did not recover. Siauliai improved to 5-3 by edging Techasas 81-83 on Saturday behind 17 points from Mantas Ruikis. Antonio Grant added 16, Marius Prekevicius had 14, Gediminas Maceina 13 and Saulius Kuzminskas 12 for Siauliai, that trailed 49-37 right after the break. A 2-21 run put Siauliai ahead, 61-67, after 30 minutes. Techasas got within 81-82, Ruikis hit 1 od 2 free throws with 17 seconds to go but the hosts missed twice in the game's final possession. In other games, Alytus beat Sakalai 83-75 while Arvi - Suduva topped Aisciai - Atletas 84-69.
