Adriatic League, Game 13: December 8-9, 2007
Nikola Pekovic - Partizan Igokea Another week, another big win for Partizan Igokea, that stays atop the Adriatic League standings with a 12-1 record. Partizan downed Split 69-84 on the road on Sunday behind 33 points on 15-for-19 two-pointers and 11 rebounds from Nikola Pekovic. Milenko Tepic added 21 points for Partizan. Meanwhile, Zadar climbed to the second place at 10-3 by edging Red Star 84-86 in Belgrade on Saturday with 27 points from Corey Brewer. Nenad Misanovic had 20 points for Zvezda. Meanwhile, Goran Jagodnik had 25 points on 10-for-10 two-pointers to lead Hemofarm Stada to a 84-67 home win against Vojvodina Srbijagas. FMP improved to 6-7 by edging Union Olimpija 72-80 in Ljubljana on Saturday. Zoran Erceg led the winners with 25 points and 11 rebounds for a big double-double. Marko Milic had 16 points for Olimpija. Buducnost improved to 7-6 by beating Geoplin Slovan 79-64 in Podgorica on Saturday behind 16 points from Vladimir Dasic, while Cibona rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Helios Domzale 82-77 in Zagreb on Saturday with 28 points from Sam Hoskin. In other games, Zagreb beat Siroki Prima pivo 74-85.

Partizan Igokea improved to 12-1 by downing Split 69-84 on the road on Sunday behind 33 points on 15-for-19 two-pointers and 11 rebounds from Pekovic. Tepic added 21 points for Partizan, that trailed 17-10 after 10 minutes. Tepic and Pekovic brought Partizan back in the game, 25-24. Free throws by Novica Velickovic and a final layup by Tepic gave Partizan its first lead, 38-39, at halftime. Partizan improved its margin to 60-66 after 30 minutes, while the guests only allowed 9 points in the final period to add another road win. Zadar took the biggest showdown in the Adriatic League this weekend by edging Red Star 84-86 in Belgrade on Saturday. Zadar is now second at 10-3 while Zvezda is third at 9-4. Brewer led the winners with 27 points. Juby Johnson added 19 while Shammel Stallworth had 15 for Zadar. Misanovic had 20 points for Zvezda. Mirko Kovac added 17, Omar Cook had 14 and 9 rebounds while Tadija Dragicevic and Mladen Sljivancanin each got 11 for the hosts, that led 41-31 at halftime. Zadar improved its offense right after the break. Brewer had 12 points in the third quarter to get Zadar within 63-62 after 30 minutes. Dragicevic tied the game at 78-78, but Jure Lalic stepped up to give Zadar a 80-84 edge. Stallworth hit free throws for a 82-86 score, Misanovic had a put-back basket but Dragicevic missed from downtown at the buzzer. Hemofarm Stada did not find trouble to down Vojvodina Srbijagas 84-67 in Vrsac on Saturday. Jagodnik paced the winners with 25 points on 10-for-10 two-pointers while Rawle Marshall added 18 for Hemofarm, that led 41-37 at halftime. Nebojsa Joksimovic, Jagodnik and Stefan Markovic stroke from downtown in a 13-1 run that broke the game open, 63-49, after 30 minutes, as Vojvodina did not recover.

FMP improved to 6-7 by edging Union Olimpija 72-80 in Ljubljana on Saturday. Erceg led the winners with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bojan Krstovic added 15 points, Nemanja Protic had 13 while Dragan Labovic got 10 for FMP. Milic had 16 points for Olimpija, Goran Dragic added 13, Ronell Taylor 11 and Jan Mocnik 10 for the hosts. Erceg had 12 points in the first quarter to lead FMP to a 8-24 margin after 10 minutes. Mocnik and Taylor helped Olimpija to get back in the game, 26-29. FMP extended its margin to 31-37 at halftime while an unstoppable Erceg allowed the guests to get a 49-63 lead after 30 minutes, enough to seal the outcome long before the final buzzer. Buducnost improved to 7-6 by beating Geoplin Slovan 79-64 in Podgorica on Saturday. Dasic paced the winners with 16 points. Ivan Maras and Bojan Bakic each added 13, Vladimir Micov had 12 while Nikola Otasevic got 11 for Buducnost, that led 39-30 at halftime. Three-pointers by Otasevic and Micov gave Buducnost a 70-55 edge midway through the fourth quarter, enough to break the game for good. Cibona had to battle hard to edge Helios 82-77 in Zagreb on Saturday. Hoskin paced the winners with 28 points, Damir Mulaomerovic added 13 while Chris Warren had 10 fpr Cibona, that trailed 53-62 after 30 minutes. Mulaomerovic and Hoskin stroke from downtown, Warren dunked it while Marin Rozic gave Cibona a 67-66 edge. Hoskin, Mulaomerovic and Rozic helped Cibona to enter the final minute with a 80-72 edge, enough to cruise to a big win in come-from-behind fashion.
