Milt Palacio - Partizan Igokea Partizan Igokea stays as the team to beat in the Adriatic League this season and improved to 13-1 in the standings by edging Vojvodina Srbijagas 84-86 in Novi Sad on Saturday. Milt Palacio led the winners with 23 points, including some critical shots in the final 3 minutes. Zadar stayed second now at 11-3 by edging archrivals Cibona 77-82 in Zagreb on Saturday, in arguably the biggest game of the week. Jure Lalic led the winners with 15 points, as Zadar broke the game with a 1-16 run that gave the guests a 56-67 edge. Free throws by Shammel Stallworth and Juby Johnson sealed the outcome down the stretch. Union Olimpija improved to 8-6 by thrashing Geoplin Slovan 91-67 in the Ljubljana derby also on Saturday behind 23 points from Miha Zupan. Zoran Erceg had 14 points in the fourth quarter and 10 in the final 3 minutes to make FMP edge Siroki 70-73 on the road on Saturday. Erceg finished the game with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Hemofarm Stada showed its power by beating Crvena Zvezda 92-101 in Belgrade on Saturday. Both teams are now tied at 9-5. Goran Jagodnik led the winners with 21 points, but five other players scored at least 13. Buducnost improved to 8-6 by topping Helios Domzale 88-74 in Podgorica on Sunday behind 21 points from Bojan Bakic. In other games, Split beat Zagreb 73-66.

Partizan Igokea stayed two games ahead everyone else at 13-1 by edging Vojvodina Srbijagas 84-86 in Novi Sad on Saturday. Palacio led the winners with 23 points. Novica Velickovic added 13 while Nikola Pekovic and Dusan Kecman each had 10 for Partizan, that trailed 37-30 late in the first half. Milenko Tepic and Palacio fueled a 0-11 run that Slavko Vranes capped with a dunk for a 37-41 Partizan edge at halftime. Partizan extended its lead to 69-75 midway through the fourth quarter, as Pekovic and Palacio kept the guests ahead. Even with that. Vojvodina got within 82-83. Palacio hit 3-for-4 free throws and Ivan Paunic missed a game-winning three-point shot in the final seconds. Zadar improved to 11-3 by edging archrivals Cibona 77-82 in Zagreb on Saturday. Cibona led 47-42 at halftime but a mamooth 1-6 run that Stallworth capped with a triple gave Zadar a double-digit edge, 56-67, early in the fourth quarter. Cibona got as close as 77-79 on free throws by Kelley, but Stallworth and Johnson sealed the outcome also from the foul line. Union Olimpija had less troubles to thrash archrivals Geoplin Slovan 91-67 in the Ljubljana derby and improve to 8-6 in the standings. Zupan had 23 points for the winners, Ronell Taylor added 17 while Goran Dragic got 11 in an easy home win for Olimpija, that led 50-37 at halftime and never looked back.

FMP improved to 7-7 by edging Siroki 70-73 on the road on Saturday. Erceg paced the winners with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Bojan Krstovic and Dragan Labovic each added 11 points for FMP, that trailed 56-48 after 30 minutes. A 2-13 run that Erceg capped with a dunk gave FMP a 58-61 edge but Siroki regained the lead, 66-63. Erceg had his team's final 10 points to win the game down the stretch. Rawle Marshall and Miljan Pavkovic each added 16, Boris Savovic had 15, Nebojsa Joksimovic 14 and Vladan Vukosavljevic 13 for Hemofarm. Tadija Dragicevc had 29 points for Red Star, Omar Cook added 19 and 9 assists while Boris Bakic got 13 points for the hosts, whose last lead came at 19-18. Even with that, a triple by Cook got the hosts within 66-71 after 30 minutes. It didn't last long, however, as Hemofarm opened the fourth quarter with a 0-10 run and kept a double-digit margin almost all the way until the final buzzer. Buducnost improved to 8-6 by topping Helios Domzale 88-74 in Podgorica on Sunday. Bojan Bakic paced the winners with 21 points. Vladimir Micov and Ivan Maras each added 15, Nikola Otasevic had 12 and Vladislav Dragojlovic 11 in an big road win for Buducnost, that led 46-44 at halftime, boosted its margin to 71-60 after 30 minutes and did not find much trouble to seal the outcome.
