Russian League, Game 13: December 21-22, 2007
Mire Chatman - Triumph The Russian League will start 2008 with CSKA atop the standings at 11-1, Khimki right behind at 10-1 and Dynamo Moscow third at 10-2. None of them played in this round due to Russian Cup games. Triumph Lyubertsy stayed fourth at 9-3 by downing Spartak St. Petersburg 76-91 on the road on Saturday. Mire Chatman led the winners with 24 points. Terrell Lyday added 21, Uros Slokar and Fedor Dmitriev each had 13 while Sergei Toporov had 10 for Triumph, that led 63-70 midway through the final period. Dmitriev had 5 points in a 1-7 run that broke the game open, 64-77, as Spartak did not recover. Unics improved to 7-5 and is fifth in the league table by thrashing Spartak Primorie 83-64 in Kazan on Friday. Darjus Lavrinovic led the way for Unics with 17 points. Nikolai Padius added 15 while Jerry McCullough had 12 for Unics. Lavrinovic and McCullough shined after the break, allowing Unics to break the game, 65-47, and cruise to an important win. Last but not least, Ural Great defeated SibirTelekom 92-77 behind 25 points from Brent Wright.
