Another week, another Adriatic League win for Partizan Igokea, that improved to 15-1 by thrashing FMP 90-68 in Belgrade on Saturday. Uros Tripkovic paced the winners with 16 points. Milt Palacio and Milenko Tepic each added 13 while Zoran Erceg led FMP with 15 points. Zadar is second at 13-3, Hemofarm and Red Star tie for the third place at 10-6 while Cibona, Union Olimpija and Crvena Zvezda are fifth at 9-7. Zadar registered its 10th consecutive win by edging Union Olimpija 66-75 in Ljubljana on Saturday behind 28 points from Juby Johnson. Marko Milic had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Olimpija. Cibona beat Red Star 94-81 in Zagreb on Saturday. Sam Hoskin led the winners with 22 points. Larry Ayuso added 19 while Omar Cook led Zvezda with 20 points and 7 steals. Buducnost showed its power by edging Hemofarm Stada 77-69 in Podgorica. Vladimir Micov paced the winners with 19 points. In other games, Split downed Geoplin Slovan 83-63 while Vojvodina Srbijagas edged Zagreb 91-88.
Partizan Igokea left no doubt about its power by thrashing FMP 90-68 in Belgrade on Saturday. Tripkovic paced the winners with 16 points. Palacio and Tepic each added 13, Dusan Kecman had 11 while Nikola Pekovic got 10 for Partizan. Erceg had 15 points for FMP while Nemanja Protic and Dragan Labovic each added 13 for the guests, who led 9-11 early. Kecman and Tepic helped Partizan to get a 23-17 edge after 10 minutes. Partizan used team effort to shine at both ends, boosting its margin to 68-48 margin after 30 minutes, enough to seal the outcome. Zadar stayed second at 13-3 and registered its 10th consecutive win by edging Union Olimpija 66-75 in Ljubljana on Saturday. Johnson led the winners with 28 points on 6-for-10 three-pointers while Pankracije Barac added 13 for Zadar. Milic had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Olimpija, whose coach Memi Becirovic left the club 12 hours after the game. It all came down to the final minutes, as both teams were tied at 66-66 with 55 seconds to go. Johnson stepped up to seal the outcome for Zadar.
Cibona improved to 9-7 and ties with Olimpija and Buducnost for the fifth place in the league table by beating Red Star 94-81 in Zagreb on Saturday. Hoskin led the winners with 22 points. Ayuso added 19 while Luksa Andric and Chris Warren each added 10 for Cibona. Andric added 11 rebounds for a double-double. Cook led Zvezda with 20 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Tadija Dragicevic added 18 points while Maljden Sljivancanin had 13 for the guests. Andric and Ayuso led Cibona to a 21-10 lead and managed to keep control of the game from that moment. Dragicevic and a red hot Sljivancanin managed to bring Red Star within 73-70 midway through the third quarter, but Ayuso, Hoskin and Vedran Princ stepped up to make Cibona cruise to a big, much-needed win. Buducnost showed its power by edging Hemofarm Stada 77-69 in Podgorica. Buducnost improved to 9-7 while Hemofarm keeps tying with Red Star at 10-6. Micov paced the winners with 19 points, Nikola Otasevic added 13, Vladislav Dragojlovic had 12 while Nemanja Gordic got 11 for Buducnost. Nebojsa Joksimovic had 18 points for Hemofarm, Milan Macvan added 13 and 7 rebounds in just 11 minutes while Goran Jagodnik got 11 points. Buducnost led 61-46 after 30 minutes and even when Macvan singlehandedly brought Hemofarm within 65-56, Micov and Gordic stepped up to seal the outcome.
