Felipe Reyes - Real Madrid Real Madrid is now the exclusive leade atop the Spanish League standings at 13-3, with AXA FC Barcelona and iurbentia Bilbao Basket right behind at 12-4. Madrid edged Cajasol 74-77 in Seville on Sunday, behind 23 points from Felipe Reyes, who had critical baskets and key blocks in the final minutes. Meanwhile, Barcelona survivd a tough test by edging Bilbao Basket 73-66 at home on Sunday with 14 points from Roger Grimau. In Badalona, Ruben Douglas fired in 8-for-11 triples on his way to 26 points to make Pamesa Valencia down DKV Joventut 85-92 on Saturday. Shammond Williams added 18, Dejan Milojevic had 16 while Rudy Fernandez led Joventut with 25 points. Tau Ceramica improved to 11-5 by topping CB Granada 90-80 in Vitoria on Saturday. Igor Rakocevic paced the winners with 20 points. Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas improved to 7-9 by thrashing ViveMenorca 91-74 at home on Sunday, while Unicaja and Akasvayu Girona registered respective road losses, 93-75 against Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada and 89-81 against Ricoh Manresa. In other games, Grupo Capitol Valladolid topped Polaris World CB Murcia 83-69 while MMT Estudiantes edged Grupo Begar Leon 85-83 on a game-winning floating layup by Gonzalo Martinez.

Real Madrid improved to 13-3 by edging Cajasol 74-77 in Seville on Sunday. Reyes led the winners with 23 points, Charles Smith added 18 while Raul Lopez had 13 for Madrid. Tyrone Ellis had 19 points for Cajasol, that overcame a double-digit deficit to get a 57-51 edge late in the third quarter. Lopez and Louis Bullock brought Madrid within 57-56 after 30 minutes. A wild corner triple by Ellis gave the hosts their last lead, 66-65. Lopez answered from downtown while Reyes had consecutive baskets and critical blocks on Michalis Kakiouzis and Aaron Miles to make Madrid escape with a major road win. Tau Ceramica improved to 11-5 by topping CB Granada 90-80 in Vitoria on Saturday. Rakocevic paced the winners with 20 points. Tiago Splitter added 16, Mirza Teletovic had 14 while Pablo Prigioni and Sergi Vidal each got 11 for Tau. Vidal, Prigioni and Gabe Muoneke allowed Tau to get a 50-35 halftime margin and Granada never recovered, as Rakocevic and Splitter allowed the hosts to keep full control of the game in the second half. Pamesa Valencia showed its power by downing DKV Joventut 85-92 in Badalona on Saturday night. Douglas paced the winners with 26 points on 8-for-11 three-pointers. Williams added 18, Milojevic had 16, Stanko Barac 12 and Mindaugas Timinskas 10 for Pamesa. Fernandez had 25 points for Joventut, Demond Mallet added 12, Lubos Barton 11 and Jerome Moiso 10. Milojevic and Williams took over in the first quarter to give Pamesa a 20-31 margin after 10 minutes. An unstoppable Barac boosted the guests' lead to 24-42, but Fernandez stepped up to get Joventut within 40-54 at halftime. Joventut kept rallying in the third quarter and a fast break basket by Barton got the hosts within 63-64 late in the third quarter. It didn't last long, however, as Douglas buried 4 triples in the fourth quarter and got some help from Williams and Milojevic to seal the outcome.

AXA FC Barcelona improved to 12-4 by edging iurbentia Bilbao Basket 73-66 at home on Sunday. Grimau led the winners with 14 points, Denis Marconato and Gianluca Basile each added 12 while Jordi Trias and Jaka Lakovic had 11 apiece for Barcelona. Marcelinho Huertas had 23 points for Bilbao Basket, that led 23-36 after 18 minutes. Kasun, Sanchez and an outstanding Grimau brought Barcelona within 35-40 at halftime. Bilbao basket got its last lead at 54-56 on a basket by Huertas. A 7-1 run that Grimau capped with a triple put the hosts ahead for good, 66-60, as Bilbao Basket did not recover. Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas improved to 7-9 by thrashing ViveMenorca 91-74 at home on Sunday. Carl English led the winners with 18 points, Marcus Norris added 15, Sitapha Savane had 14 while Roberto Guerra got 12 for Gran Canaria, that trailed 16-18 after 10 minutes. Guerra, Norris and English helped Gran Canaria to get a 49-36 halftime margin. A three-pointer by English boosted the hosts' lead to 64-46 and ViveMenorca never recovered. Akasvayu Girona dropped to 8-8 due to a 93-75 road loss against Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada. Salva Guardia paced the winners with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Fernando San Emeterio had 16 points to lead Akasvayu, Marc Gasol added 14, Victor Sada had 12 while Jackson Vroman and Arriel McDonald each got 10 for the guests, who trailed 70-50 after three quarters and never recovered. Unicaja also dropped to 8-8 because of an 89-81 road loss against Ricoh Manresa. Rafa Martinez led Manresa with 26 points. Carlos Cabezas led Unicaja with 22 points, Davor Kus added 19 while Jiri Welsch had 10 for the guests. Martinez stepped up in the final 2 minutes with a driving basket and a triple, good for a 84-76 Manresa lead in the final minute, enough to seal the outcome.
