Danilo Gallinari - Armani Jeans Milano Air Avellino put an end to Montepaschi Siena's historical 24-game winning streak in the Italian League. Avellino downed Montepaschi 79-73 at home on Sunday. Marques Green paced the winners with 17 points. Terrell McIntyre had 21 points for Montepaschi, that dropped to 18-1 but is still way ahead Lottomatica roma, second at 13-6. Lottomatica thrashed Siviglia Wear Teramo 78-61 at home on Sunday behind 12 points from Erazem Lorbek. Meanwhile, Armani Jeans Milano moved up to 9-10 by edging Solsonica Rieti 86-81 at home on Sunday. Danilo Gallinari paced the winners with 20 points. Benetton improved to 8-11 by thrashing Scavolini Spar Pesaro 82-56 in Treviso on Saturday behind 27 points from Lionel Chalmers and 21 rebounds from Nana Mensah-Bonsu. Upim Bologna went up to 9-10 by edging Premiata Montegranaro 79-73 at home on Saturday with 18 points from Kristaps Janicenoks. La Fortezza Bologna dropped to 8-11 due to a 73-67 road loss against Angelico Biella. In other games, Snaidero Udine edged Cimberio Varese 90-88 in overtime on a put-back basket by Joel Zacchetti, Tisettanta Cantu beat Legea Scafati 78-90 while Pierrel Capo d'Orlando also needed overtime to down Eldo Napoli 110-107. Gianmarco Pozzecco led the winners with 32 points and 8 assists.

McIntyre and Thornton fueled a 2-10 run that tied the game at 73-73. Free throws by Peter Lisicky, Green and Devin Smith allowed Avellino to get a tough home win. Lottomatica Roma stayed second at 13-6 by thrashing Siviglia Wear Teramo 78-61 at home on Sunday. Lorbek led the winners with 13 points. Allan Ray added 12 while David Hawkins had 11 for Lottomatica, that used a 10-2 run which Rodrigo De La Fuente capped with a triple to break the game open, 34-18. Lottomatica boosted its margin to 60-30 midway through the third quarter and cruised to a well-deserved win. Armani Jeans Milano had to battle harder to edge Solsonica Rieti 86-81 at home on Sunday. Gallinari paced the winners with 20 points. Melvin Booker and Dusan Vukcevic each added 17 while Ansu Sesay had 12 for Milano, that led 48-38 at halftime. Sesay and Vukcevic allowed Milano to keep a 69-59 margin after 30 minutes while Gallinari sealed the outcome, 83-70, with 2 minutes to go, as Rieti only rallied once the outcome was clear.

Benetton improved to 8-11 by thrashing Scavolini Spar Pesaro 82-56 in Treviso on Saturday. Chalmers led the winners with 27 points. Reece Gaines added 18, Mensah-Bonsu posted a monster double-double of 13 points and 21 rebounds while Mario Austin had 12 points for Benetton, that led 45-30 at halftime. Gaines and Austin allowed Benetton to get a 61-47 margin after 30 minutes, while Chalmers and Gaines combined for 16 points in the final period to seal the outcome. Upim Bologna went up to 9-10 by edging Premiata Montegranaro 79-73 at home on Saturday behind 18 points from Kristaps Janicenoks. Stefano Mancinelli added 15, Dalibor Bagaric posted a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds while Oscar Torres had 11 points for Upim, that trailed 68-69 with 2 minutes to go. Janicenoks, Bagaric and Torres stepped up to win it for Fortitudo down the stretch. La Fortezza Bologna dropped to 8-11 due to a 73-67 road loss against Angelico Biella. B.J. Elder led the winners with 17 points. Guilherme Giovannoni had 15 points for Virtus, Travis Best 13, Fabio Di Bella 11 while Roberto Chiacig grabbed 11 rebounds for the guests, whose last lead came at 39-40. Biella had already sealed the outcome, 72-60, with 2 minutes to go.
