3x3 tourney starts Final Four week in Moscow!
Greetings from Moscow, Euroleague fans! The Sunday before basketball takes over the Russian capital has marked the beginning of the events that will lead up to the Final Four and the crowning of a Euroleague champion in exactly one week. Basketball fever was in the air as the Euroleague 3x3 Streetball tournament attracted dozens of teams of Muscovites to Festivalniy Park. A total of 96 teams played in various categories, including 12 women's teams, while several young slammers entertained the crowd in a dunk contest. CSKA Moscow, host club of the Final Four, represented itself well, winning the VIP portion of the tournament. Club CEO Sergey Kushchenko, assistant coach Evgeniy Pashutin, legend Sergei Bazarevich and ex-player Andrei Spiridonov led CSKA to four victories. They played the final against a team formed by the Russian Basketball Federation and directed by national coach Sergey Babkov, with national under-21 coach Dimitri Shakulin, plus ex-internationals Mikhail Mikhailov and Andrei Maltsev. CSKA won 14-10.
