 Benetton Olympic Fribourg scored a big 73-86 away win over Geneva Devils on Saturday to remain atop the Swiss League table with 13-1 record. Fribourg has a twowin lead over the two teams in second place, the Lugano Tigers and Birstal Starwings, who also won on Saturday. Olympic had five players score in double figures, led by 18 from Marcus Sloan and 15 by Oliver Vogt. The defending champs took an early 20-28 lead and increased it to 30-47 at halftime. Geneva tried to climb back in the third quarter, but never became a real danger for the guests. David Ramseier posted 21 for the Devils. Lugano dominated its home game with Nyon, 100-82 behind 24 points from Dusan Mladjan and 16 by Kamil Pietras. Birstal Starwings had no problem against Meyrin Grand Saccone, leading at 30-44 at halftime and increasing it throughout the second half to the final 67-92. Jarred McCurry led the way scoring 29 points. Lausanne edged Boncourt 84-80 as Alvaro Calvo and Charly Pleux-Decollognes bagged 25 apiece. Slaven Smiljanic netted 29 points in leading Vacallo to a 65-79 away win over Vevey Riviera, and Brendon Polyblank collected 19 points to help Monthey to beat Sion Herens on the road 46-63.
