Another weekend, another Adriatic League win for Partizan Igokea, that keeps leading the standings now with a 17-1 record by beating Helios Domzale 86-76 in Belgrade on Saturday behind 15 points from Milenko Tepic. Zadar stayed second at 15-3 and is now four games ahead Hemofarm and Red Star, who tie for the third place at 11-7. Zadar registered its 12th consecutive win by edging Split CO 80-88 on the road also on Saturday. Shammel Stallworth paced the winners with 23 points while Corey Brewer added 20 and 8 assists for Zadar. Union Olimpija downed Red Star 92-80 in Ljubljana to move up to 10-8. Jasmin Hukic led the winners with 25 points. Goran Dragic added 24 while Marko Milic had 16 for Olimpija. Steven Markovic had 19 points for Zvezda. Buducnost also ties for fifth place at 10-8 by beating Cibona 81-71 in Podgorica on Saturday behind 19 points from Bojan Bakic. Hemofarm dropped to 11-7 due to a 73-69 road loss against Siroki Prima pivo while FMP went down to 8-10 because of a 88-78 road loss against Vojvodina Srbijagas. In other games, Zagreb CO thrashed Geoplin Slovan 83-67 behind 27 points from Jakov Vladovic.
Partizan improved to 17-1 and kept leading the Adriatic League standings by beating Helios Domzale 86-76 in Belgrade on Saturday. Tepic led the winners with 15 points, Nikola Pekovic added 14 while Uros Tripkovic had 12 for Partizan, that led 67-65 with 8 minutes to go. Pekovic had 4 points in a 6-0 run that gave Partizan a 73-65 and Helios only managed to trade baskets in the decisive minutes. Zadar kept its winning streak alive and improved to 15-3 by edging Split CO 80-88 on the road also on Saturday. Stallworth paced the winners with 23 points. Brewer added 20 and 8 assists, Todor Gecevski had 14 points while Juby Johnson got 10 for Zadar, that trailed 53-52 midway through the third quarter. Stallworth and Gecevski helped Zadar to get a 61-68 edge after 30 minutes. A 0-6 run that Andrej Stimac capped with a layup seal the outcome, 70-82, with 2 minutes to go. Union Olimpija showed its power by topping Red Star 92-80 in Ljubljana. Olimpija imporved to 10-8 while Zvezda dropped to 11-7. Hukic led the winners with 25 points. Dragic added 24 while arko Milic had 16 for Olimpija. Steven Markovic had 19 points for Zvezda, Tadija Dragicevic added 13, Omar Cook and Nenad Misanovic each got 12 while Marko Cvetkovic scored 11 points for the guests, that led 42-43 at the half. Back-to-back triples by Hukic and another one by Sasa Doncic allowed Olimpija to get a 67-59 margin after 30 minutes. A 10-0 run highlighted by Milic's dunk broke the game open, 77-59, early in the fourth quarter.
Buducnost now ties for fifth place at 10-8 by beating Cibona 81-71 in Podgorica on Saturday. Bakic paced the winners with 19 points, Nemanja Gordic added 15 while Vladimir Micov, Marko Popovic and Vladimir Dasic each had 10 for Buducnost. Sam Hoskin had 20 points for Cibona while Marin Rozic added 11. A 19-0 run that Dasic capped with a layup allowed Buducnost to get a 46-35 margin at halftime. Cibona did not panic and managed to tie the game, 63-63, on free throws by Hoskin. A 9-0 run that Micov capped with foul shots sealed the outcome, 72-63, with 3 minutes to go. Hemofarm dropped to 11-7 due to a 73-69 road loss against Siroki Prima pivo. Sinisa Stemberger led Siroki with 17 points. Rawle Marshall had 15 points for Hemofarm, Nebojsa Joksimovic and Vladan Vukosavljevic each added 13 while Miljan Pavkovic got 11 for the guests, who last lead came at 54-55. Joksimovic, however, brought Hemofarm within 70-69 but Stemberger sealed the outcome from the foul line. Marshall missed a desperation three-point shot at the buzzer. FMP went down to 8-10 because of a 88-78 road loss against Vojvodina Srbijagas. Vladimir Gobulovic led Vojvodina with 20 points. Zoran Erceg had 22 points for FMP, Nemanja Gordic added 17, Dragan Labovic had 13 and Bojan Krstovic 10 for FMP, that trailed 70-63 after 30 minutes and lose all its winning chances in the final 4 minutes.
