Barcelona, January 30, 2008. Even without Euroleague Basketball games, next week will be full of activities as one of the highlight events of the season takes place in Madrid, Spain. On Monday, February 4, at 12:45 CET at the Real Casa de Correos in the famous Puerta del Sol, the 2007-08 Top 16 draw will determine for all the teams that survived the regular season which others they must beat to keep advancing in the competition. For the third consecutive year, the Top 16 Draw may be followed by live video on Euroleague.net. Immediately after the draw, fans can also see live-streamed interviews on Euroleague.net with Euroleague teams representatives giving their impressions of the draw results.
Other activities will be held in Madrid to coincide with the Top 16 Draw. On Monday, February 4 starting at 15:00, the 16th Mid-Season Clinic for ULEB-FIBA Europe International Referees will be held at the Hotel Hesperia Getafe, where 110 referees, 20 observers, six domestic league representatives and a FIBA Europe representative will be able to share their experiences of the first half of the season with video and feedback sessions.
On Monday afternoon following the draw, and continuing on Tuesday, the European Basketball Marketing Summit will take place at the NH Eurobuilding Hotel. This initiative, to which all European clubs and leagues have been invited, focuses on sharing the common experience of all participants, interacting and discovering the best practices with the aim to improve the way basketball is marketed in Europe.
